Porcelain veneers can give you renewed confidence in your smile
Veneers are thin porcelain coverings, similar to false fingernails. They are made from the same strong porcelains used to make all-porcelain crowns, and are bonded to natural tooth tissue.
Veneers can be used to disguise the original colour, shade or shape of your teeth, or to close gaps between the teeth. Your smile can be quickly, comfortably, and beautifully transformed!
Before a tooth can be veneered, an impression of the tooth is sent to a dental laboratory where the veneer is made to match the colour and shape of your teeth.
The veneer is bonded into place using composite resin cement .

with cosmetic veneers creating a more youthful look in just 2 appointments.
Replace Unsightly (or toxic) Fillings
Did you know that some fillings contain material that can be toxic and even harmful to your health?
Many patients are concerned about the mercury contained in this material, not to mention the copper, zinc and silver. These metals are potentially harmful both to the patient and the environment, apart from their unsightly appearance.
We offer the replacement of amalgam filings with tooth-coloured composite resin fillings, or laboratory-manufactured porcelain inlays to give the smile you deserve.

Tooth Coloured Material
Here at Bay Dental And Orthodontics we only use tooth coloured restorations. They are made from a special resin with filler particles embedded in it to provide strength and resistance to wear.
The tooth is first etched with a mild acid before the filling material is bonded into position using a special glue (bonding agent) that bonds to tooth structure. Both the composite resin and bonding agent are perfectly safe, and provided these tooth coloured fillings are placed in a suitably prepared tooth, they will last a minimum of 5 to 8 years, depending on the size of the restoration, and how much tooth structure it replaces.
The larger the restoration, the shorter the life span, and for larger restorations, a crown should be considered to fully restore the tooth to its original shape and function, and to protect it from fracture.
The shape and size of a tooth can be altered with white filling materials, and spaces between the teeth can be closed.
